Public transport in and around the Slough area

Young people are often dependent on public transport, whether that is going to school, college or taking part in activities & hobbies in Slough. This page provides information on local public transport within and around the Slough area.

Concessionary fares, discounts, subsidies, passes or travel cards available for students aged 16 to 19?

The Slough Post 16 Transport Partnership offers students a Student Reduced Fare Card free of charge with no means testing but it is supplied on a first come, first service basis so APPLY EARLY. This entitles students to travel on First buses at under 16 prices. These reduced fares are applicable to First buses as long as the journey begins or ends in the borough of Slough. You can purchase the Reduced Fare Card tickets on a daily, weekly or monthly basis at under 16 rates and there are no time restrictions. You can travel all day, all evening and during weekends or holidays on this card and it will continue to be available for those students who reach 19 whilst continuing on a course.

What help can students apply for if they need to travel to a college course that is beyond your LEA area?

The Student Reduced Fare Card enables students to travel to a number of FE colleges beyond the Slough area. Details of colleges accessible using the card are given below:

What help do you provide for students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties or facing other difficulties in following their courses?

Students with a disability and/or learning difficulty who meet specific criteria can apply for a concessionary fares pass. This is a bus pass that enables holders to travel free on buses within Slough and to a number of places outside the borough.
